Lamar Demeatrice Jackson Jr was born on 7th January 1997 in a financially distraught area in Florida USA. His parents Mrs Felicia Jones and Mr Lamar Jackson Sr lived and raised Lamar and his siblings till Mr Jackson Sr. died in a car accident. Baltimore Ravens (2018-present)

In 2018, Lamar Jackson decided to enter the NFL draft. Although the thoughts of analysts were for him to change his role from a quarterback, he decided to stick and display his dexterity in passing and intelligence in the deep role. Baltimore Ravens selected him in the 1st round as the 32nd pick. He then committed to the Ravens with a $9,470,000 deal and a signing bonus of $4.97 million. 

Jackson debuted in a win against Buffalo Bills as a relief for Joe Flacco and recorded his premiere touchdown against New Orleans Saints. In November, he was named the quarterback starter against Cincinnati Bengals following Joe Flacco’s injury.  In that game, he rushed for 117 yards and that stat made it to the Ravens’ franchise record by a quarterback to have that number of rushing yards in a single game. Lamar Jackson helped the Ravens as they won the AFC North title and went on to complete the regular season with a quarterback topping of 5 rushing touchdowns and 695 rushing yards as well as 6 passing touchdowns, 1,201 passing yards and 3 interceptions.

In the 2019 regular season, Lamar Jackson had a perfect passer rating and his career’s highest passing yards of 324 in the opening fixture of the season where he also recorded 5 touchdowns in a 49-point difference score-line against Miami Dolphins. He won the 1st week AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his skilful display.  He also recorded 2 touchdowns in the following game and set a franchise record for the Ravens as regards touchdown passes.

Lamar Jackson set himself as the 1st in the history of the NFL to record above 250 passing yards and 120 rushing yards in a single game. His two perfect passer rating in a season made him the second player in the NFL to do so. He also became the 1st quarterback to score four and above touchdowns in a regular-season more than once. His 86 rushing yards against Houston Texans in the 11th week made him the 1st quarterback to record 60 and above rushing yards in 7 games without interruption.

Following the victory against Buffalo Bills, Jackson seconded Michael Vick’s record of 1000 rushing yards in a season. In total, Jackson won 5 AFC Offensive Player of the Week awards and 1 AFC Offensive Player of the Month award during the 2019 regular season. Baltimore Ravens featured in the 2020 Pro Bowl and Jackson became the youngest quarterback starter in the Pro Bowl.
