High School Career

He started playing football from his junior years, raking in numbers as a junior and as a senior, making touchdowns, catching passes and accumulating yards all over. He was listed in the 2011 Times-Picayune Blue Chip roll and also Louisiana’s All-State First Team, District Offensive MVP, among many others.

American Football was not the only sport Odell was good at. He played basketball, participated in running and jumping as well, even went on to win silver in the Newman Invitational 2010 edition with his all-time jump of 6.83 metres. He also played Soccer and he is a huge fan of soccer legend who is also his namesake David Beckham. He got chances to try out soccer with the junior national team program but he declined in other to participate in other sports home since that was going to take him away and restrict him to soccer for the most part.

College Career

Being a Freshman at Louisiana State University in 2011, Odell participated as a starter for 9 out of 14 games. His debut game was on 3rd of September same year in a match against Oregon Ducks. His first touchdown was against West Virginia Mountaineers with a 52yard reception from teammate Jarett Lee on 24th of September. In his freshman season, he was able to get in the all-SEC selection for freshmen, scoring 41 receptions and two touchdowns.

In his Sophomore year, he got 12 starts of 13 games. The opening match was good for him as he had over 100 yards against Towson Tigers on the 29th of September. The season finished with him being the team leader for receiving yards and then second for receptions.

During his Junior year in 2013, he blended with Jarvis Landry to be one of the very best wide receiver pair in college football. Early September, In a game against UAB, Odell Jr picked 5 receptions, spanning 136 yards with 3 touchdowns. He got his career high receiving yards of 179 with 2 touchdowns in a game against Mississippi State on the 5th of October. He garnered some awards that season that includes being named in the All southern conference first and second team and won the 2013 edition of Paul Hornung award for being the most versatile player in college level football. Professional career

New York Giants (2014–2019)

Odell Beckham was picked by the NFL team New York Giants as 12th in the total pick in the 1st round of the 2014 NFL draft. He picked up a hamstring injury before the season started which led to him missing the most parts of the training camp, the preseason games and also the 1st four games of the season. But he was able to make his debut by October 2014 in a game against Atlanta Falcons where he scored a touchdown and picked 4 receptions over 44 yards. His stats and numbers continued to rise as the season went on. November 23 he made a spectacular catch with one hand while falling backwards for a touchdown, it went on to be named catch of the year. The jersey he wore for the catch was put on display in the game against Dallas by the Pro football hall of fame.
Odell Beckham finished November creating an NFL rookie record for a month while breaking two rookie records for 5 straight games with more than 90 yards receiving in a single season and even extended the record to 6 games.
By December 14, Odell Beckham became the first NFL newbie to make at least twelve catches over 140 yards and 3 touchdowns. Beckham went ahead to smash a whole lot of NFL rookie records and setting a lot more, he also garnered awards that season like the Offensive Rookie of the year graced the cover of NFL Madden and was the youngest player ever to do so.

After the summer break in August 2018, Beckham put pen to paper for a 5-year contract extension worth $95million, $41million outrightly guaranteed. His first game after recovery was a loss to Jacksonville Jaguars, the season wasn’t as great as his previous seasons but he was able to keep his numbers very high.

March 13, 2019, Beckham was swapped with Jabrill Peppers and Dexter Lawrance of Cleveland Browns.
