Raheem Mostert was born in Westside, Florida on the 9th of April, 1992. Mostert heirs from a humble background of little means as his family lived in funded buildings and changed apartments for about 5 times during his juvenile years. He never knew his biological father and struggled to survive and have fun as a boy. He would surf on boards he lent from others since he couldn’t afford one. He enjoyed the seaside so much and tried to spend as much time as possible there.

Mostert attended the New Smyrna Beach High School where he participated in track and field events as well as American football. He was the Most Valuable Player in the 2010 central Florida All-Star game and participated in the Florida North vs. South game. Purdue University

Mostert decided to choose Purdue University in spite of scholarship offers from Illinois State University and six others in 2011. From his freshman till his senior year, he played college football in the school team. Mostert won the Big Ten Freshman of the Week honour, and his 837 kickoff return yards seconds became the best in Purdue’s history for a season, as well as the 13th best in the school’s record. In his sophomore year, Mostert was among those mentioned to the Jet Award watch list which is an award for top return performers in the NCAA and also became the team captain through the season.

Philadelphia Eagles (2015)

Not included in the 2015 draft after graduating from college, Mostert signed for the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent. During the preseason, he topped the NFL in yards from the scrimmage line and totalled 351 yards. In the end, he was among those removed from the Eagles’ squad as they got ready for the regular season. Two days after the cut-down, he was moved to the Eagles’ practice squad.

Miami Dolphins (2015)

Just seven days after Mostert’s move to the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad in September, Miami Dolphins signed him. In the 2nd week, Mostert returned two kicks for 57 yards. In October, the Dolphins released him with the purpose of moving him to the practice squad, but this didn’t go well with Mostert and he signed for the Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore Ravens (2015)

Because of a season-long devastating injury to key man Lorenzo Taliaferro, the Ravens were forced to sign Raheem Mostert. In seven games, he returned 5 kicks for 164 yards which were far from impressive. He was again put out of first-team performances for the practice squad but claimed off waivers by the one man-short Cleveland Browns.

Cleveland Browns (2015–2016)

In December 2015, Mostert was announced to start as the Cleveland Browns kick returner for their last three games. He recorded an improved 12 kicks return for 309 yards. He played for one more year with the Browns before completing another move.

New York Jets (2016)

Mostert signed for the New York Jets’ practice squad in September 2016 but spent a mere 6-day spell with the Jets; making it the shortest tenure of his career.

Chicago Bears (2016)

In September 2016, Mostert completed two transfers within a month. He signed for the Chicago Bears practice squad but was soon promoted to the first team. He recorded two appearances and was moved down once more to the practice squad. Finally, he was released by the Bears in November 2016.

San Francisco 49ers (2016–date)

Raheem Mostert signed for the practice squad of San Francisco 49ers in November and was soon given the first-team opportunity a month later. He debuted against the Seahawks and recorded 68 return yards and 6 rushing yards at the end of the season. Through the 2017 season, Mostert recorded 83 return yards and 30 rushing yards in 11 appearances as his season ended prematurely due to injury. Mostert scored his professional career’s maiden touchdown against Oakland Riders in the 9th week and sustained an injury during the same game. He recorded 261 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown during the 2018 season.  

Mostert extended his contract with the 49ers in March 2019 and complimented it with a touchdown in the 2nd week against the Cincinnati Bengals. In a victory against the Carolina Panthers, he scored his premiere rushing touchdown. Raheem Mostert completed the 2019 regular season with an impressive 772 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns, 14 receptions for 180 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

The 49ers participated in the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl LIV. During the NFC Championship Game, Mostert became the 2nd player in the history of the franchise to record 4 rushing touchdowns and 220 yards in a single postseason and his 220 yards marks the second in the history of a single NFL’s postseason. They lost the Super Bowl LIV to the Kansas City Chiefs in a 19-point difference loss.
