Rob Gronkowski’s Childhood & Early Life

Rob was born into the Gronkowski family on May 14, 1989. Growing up in the midst of 4 energetic boys really made for a memorable childhood with a lot of stories. His family was in Williamsville for a while before moving to the suburbs of Pittsburgh. He attended Highschool at the Williamsville North High school for three years there he played two different games; He played the tight end position in football and the centre position in basketball. In football, He had a record of 36 receptions on 648 yards and 8 touchdowns on the offensive and had 73 tackles and 6 sacks on the defensive. He was named in the All-New York first-team and All-State Second-team.

Beginning his senior year of Highschool in Pittsburgh, the Woodlands hills Highschool in Churchill Pittsburgh. He recorded 8 receptions for 152 yards and four touchdowns despite the fact that he was earlier declared ineligible to play, but the ineligibility was overturned. He received a lot of recognitions and recommendations such as Superprep All American, Prep Star All American, the Patriot-News, and was awarded scholarships from Kentucky, Arizona, Clemson, Maryland, Ohio, Syracuse and Louisville. Committing to the University of Arizona and playing for the wildcat’s of Arizona, he started his freshman year in 2007, there his season stats recorded 28 receptions for 525 yards and 6 touchdowns. His recorded 18.8 yards per reception average and this was noted as the best in his team, his receiving yards, on the other hand, was recorded as the best in his school’s history. In his Junior season at Arizona, he missed 3 of his games. He then recorded 47 receptions on 672 yards and 10 touchdowns that were considered his team’s best touchdowns. He broke his left forearm in the season of 2012 in a game against the Indianapolis Colts. In his 2013 season, Rob was only able to play in seven games of the season. This is because he had to undergo several surgeries in the forearm and also in his back. Doctors declared him fit to play on 10th October 2013. However, in his next game, he tore his ACL and MCL. Gronk ended the season with 596 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns (receiving).
