Alexis Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez (born 19 December 1988) is a professional associative football player who originates from Chile. Sanchez who is often regarded as one of the key players in the Chilean National football team is known for his exceptional football wits and playmaking skills. Alexis Sanchez Childhood Story & Early Life 

Alexis Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez (born 19 December 1988) is one of four kids born to his parents, Mr Guillermo Soto Espinoza, who was unemployed at the time of Sánchez’s birth, and Mrs Martina Sánchez, who had a small business and provided for the family. Soon after Sanchez’s birth, his unemployed father left his mother. His mother was left to raise Sánchez’s and his siblings. As a result of the difficulty in feeding her children, Sánchez was adopted by his uncle, Jose Martinez. Jose Martinez was not financially stable enough to sponsor Sánchez’s education.

After living with Jose Martinez for a couple of years, Sánchez began earning money for himself, as his foster father could not provide for him anymore. Sánchez’s love for football made his foster father enrol him in a football academy. In order for him to remain in the academy, young Sánchez had to engage in various menial jobs, as well as performing acrobatics on the street. He sometimes resorted to begging strangers for food and money. During this period of peril, Sánchez met a football director, Luis Astorga, who came to his aid. He made sure, young Sánchez attended the Cobreloa Football Club, where he began to develop his football skills.

 Cobreloa (2005–2006)

Sánchez rose through the ranks of Cobreloa youth system, and eventually got a place in the senior team in February 2005. That month he made his debut for the club, and the next month, he scored his first goal for the club. At just 16 years of age, Sánchez debuted in the Copa Libertadores.

Udinese (2006–2011)

Following his top performance in the season, Serie A club, Udinese signed Sánchez in April 2006. After signing him, he was loaned out for the season to Chilean club, Colo-Colo.

Colo-Colo (Loan 2006–2007)

In June 2006, Sánchez made his first appearance for Colo-Colo. In October, he registered his first goal for the team. Sánchez who was eager to prove his worth eventually won a place in the team’s starting line-up. He was exceptionally good in the build-up to the Copa Sudamericana final, which they lost to emerge as runner-up. He eventually won his first professional title in December 2006, after Colo-Colo won the Torneo Clausura. The next season, Sánchez performance continued in top form. He was key to the team’s league win in the 2007 season. At the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Chile emerged third, Sánchez performance was laudable. His loan with Colo-Colo ended in August 2007.

River Plate (Loan 2007–2008)

Udinese sent Sanchez on loan to River plate. His stay at River Plate was cut short as he was invited back to join the Udinese. 

Back to Udinese (2008 – 2011)

In July 2008, Sánchez arrived at Udinese. He soon made his non-competitive debut where he was named man of the match. In September 2008, he debuted in the Serie A and registered his first goal in the league in October. His first season with Udinese ended with no laurels and trophy. In his second season with Udinese, he led Udinese to the Coppa Italia semifinal, after defeating Milan. At the semifinal, they lost to Roma on aggregate.  Sánchez was named man of the match, in the second leg.

In February 2011, he became the first Chilean player to score the most goals in a Serie A match, after he scored four goals in a 7-nil victory over Palermo. He forged a key partnership with Antonio Di Natale, which made them one of the best scoring players in the league. At the conclusion of the season, he was named the most promising young player of the 2011 season by voters on FIFA.com 

Barcelona (2011–2014)

In July 2013, Laliga giant, Barcelona paid €26 million to Udinese for Sánchez who became the first Chilean player to be signed by the club. He debuted for Barcelona in August 2011 in the first leg of the Supercopa de España against Real Madrid. He then went on to win the 2011 UEFA Cup with Barcelona after coming in as a substitute. After scoring in the Laliga opening match against Villarreal, he clinched his first two goals in the Champions League in February 2012 against Bayer Leverkusen. In the 2012/13 season, Sánchez scored a total of eight goals and won the Laliga title with Barcelona. His 2013/14 season was a great step up for Sánchez. He concluded the season with 21 goals, the highest in his career.

Arsenal (2014–2018)

In July 2014, Sánchez moved to EPL side, Arsenal, on a long term deal worth £31.7 million. He was given the #17 jersey and debuted as a substitute in the Emirates Cup, a pre-season tournament. In August, he played in the Community Shield match against Manchester United, which the club won. He also debuted in the Premier League that month. He registered his first goal for Arsenal against Beşiktaş in August 2014. In his first season at Arsenal, he was in remarkable form. He was named the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year and received the PFA Team of the Year honours. In the FA Cup final in 2015, he became the first Chilean player since 1952 to score in the FA Cup final as Arsenal went in to win the tourney. He concluded his debut season in the Premier League by claiming the Arsenal Player of the Year award.

In the 2015/16, his top form continued, but he didn’t claim any trophy or individual laurel. Following Arsenal’s kit change in the 2016/17 season, Sánchez’s jersey number changed from #17 to #7. He led the Gunners to claim another FA Cup title and ended the season as the club’s top scorer. He was shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year award and was named Arsenal Player of the season. After returning from the Confederations Cup in 2017 with injury, he soon returned to action. Amidst speculations that he may move from Arsenal, and despite several attempts from EPL clubs to sign Sanchez, all were unsuccessful. He continued playing in top form for the Gunners.

Manchester United (2018–date)

On January 2018, Sanchez moved to Manchester United in a swap deal, that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move to Arsenal. He debuted in the fourth round of the FA Cup for United. In February 2018, he scored his first goal for United. In the 2018/19 season, Sánchez scored his first goal of the season in October 2018.

Inter Milan (Loan 2019–date)

In August 2019, Sánchez was sent on loan to Serie A side, Inter Milan, on a season-long loan deal. In September 2019, he debuted for Inter and scored his first goal for the club, that month.

Sanchez first appeared for the Chile national team, in April 2006. He then went on to play in the FIFA U-20 World Cup held in 2007, where they emerged third. He played in the 2010 World Cup and the 2011 Copa America. At the 2014 World Cup, he led his side to the round of 16, where they lost on a penalty shootout to Brazil.

In the 2015 Copa America, which Chile won, he was named Man of the Match in a controversial quarterfinal win over Uruguay, the defending champions.
