Jordan Spieth is one of three children born on July 27, 1993, to Shawn and Mary Christian Spieth. His father, owned a media start-up, while his mother worked as a computer engineer.

Spieth’s interest in sports started at a young age. Young Spieth played soccer, basketball, baseball and football. While Spieth played these sports, he didn’t really find them as fascinating as golf which got his attention. By the time he was 12, his interest in golf had become full-blown. He was enrolled in the Brookhaven Country Club, where he learnt how to play golf from a former golf pro, Cameron McCormick.

Spieth big break in his amateur career came in 2009, where he won the US Junior Amateur Championship. In April 2014, Spieth closely lost out in the Masters and became the youngest player in history to emerge runner-up in the Masters.
