Trey Flowers was a bright prospect in high school (Columbia High School) as a basketball player and an American footballer. Throughout his years in college (University of Arkansas), he played on the football team and started on three occasions in thirteen games during his 1st year. During his junior year, he was honoured with the Second Team All-SEC. Judging from a couple of nice shows as a freshman, he became an all-time starter in his 2nd and 3rd year in college. In 2014 after an overturned decision to enter the NFL draft, he played his senior year as the leading man with respect to passes defended, sacks, tackles and forced fumbles. He thus made the Honorable Mention All-SEC.

New England Patriots (2015-2019)
In 2015 he decided to enter the NFL draft again after he overturned the decision in 2014, returning to the college for his degree. He was picked by the New England Patriots in the 4th round. He played his 1st game during the preseason against the Green Bay Packers and was untimely substituted due to injury. Although among the squad for the season, he was available for only one game that year as he was placed out of action due to an injury he sustained in December 2015. Sadly, due to the injury, his debut season was a tragedy.
In 2016 however, he had his break out season. His initial double NFL sacks came against the Buffalo Bills where he also recorded five tackles. As the season progressed, Flowers began to gain recognition as he became a regular feature and started the last 8 fixtures of the season. In the Super Bowl LI, he recorded 2.5 sacks against the Atlanta Falcons. The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl LI with a 25 point comeback victory.
In the opening fixture of the 2017 season against the Kansas City Chiefs, he recorded 2 sacks. That season, he led the team with a record of 6.5 sacks in 14 starts and assisted the Patriots to the Super Bowl LII where he recorded 5 tackles. During mid-season, he sustained a rib injury but came back soon enough before the end of the season.
