Patrick Mahomes II was born on 17 September 1995 to Pat Mahomes (father) and Randi Martin (mother) at Tyler, Texas. His father Pat used to be a major league baseball player.

High School Career
Mahomes attended Whitehouse high school, Smith County, Texas. He started as a baseball player in high school and was a top prospect who was thought to be following in his father’s footsteps being that his father played baseball until 2009 after ranking as high as no. 25 in 1992. Mahomes was ranked 419 among prospects in 2014 when he came out of high school and was very passionate about American football even though at the time he could play basketball too.
His father made sure he had no influence in his son’s sports career choice since he observed the kid loved and wanted to play American football. Pat just gave his son all the support he needed even though he could have succeeded in major league baseball as well.
During his senior year in high school, he had an awesome record as an American football player—he had 15 rush touchdowns, 948 rush yards, 50 passing touchdowns, and a whopping 4619 passing yards.
Texas Tech College (2014-2016)
He enrolled at Texas tech university after high school where he was selected for the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by Detroit Tigers, but he didn’t put the pen down on paper with them as he was more interested in football. He was named ‘Male Athlete of the year’ by MaxPreps.
Mahomes jr started out as a backup to Davis Webb in his freshman year, his first game was against Oklahoma State when Webb came off with an injury, Mahomes had a great game. He had his first start in a match against Texas, he had 13 successful of 21 attempted passes with 109 yards in the match. He also played for the school’s baseball team as a relief pitcher.
He started his sophomore year as the starting quarterback. In the first game of the season, he passed 425 yards with four touchdowns in a victory against Sam Houston State University.
Just before the 2016 season, Mahomes made it public that he was quitting baseball to concentrate on football. He also went on to win most offensive player of the week, becoming one of the players in NFL history to get over 5,000 passing yards in a season, helping the Chiefs to their third consecutive division title.
