Caeleb Remel Dressel was born on 16 August 1996 to his father Michael Dressel and mother Christina Dressel, in Green Cove Springs, Florida.

He is the third of four children born to his parents.

Caeleb’s siblings, Tyler, Kaitlyn, and Sherridon are all professional swimmers in various competitions.

He attended Clay High School at Green Cove Springs, Florida.

2012

Dressel began competitive swimming as a high scholar when he contested for the 2012 US Olympic Trials.

The 15-year old earned public recognition as he led the 200-yard free relay in less than 20 seconds, becoming the first contestant under age 16 to do so.

2013

Dressel continued his feats as he set a FINA World Junior Swimming Championships record in 2013, winning six medals in the tournament.

He also became the youngest ever swimmer to finish under 19 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle swimming at the 2013 Speedo Winter Junior National Championships.

2015

Dressel attended the University of Florida from 2014–2018, where he gained prominence at the collegiate level.
