Conclusion
What are your thoughts about our ranking of the top-15 greatest soccer players of all-time? Which of the best soccer players do you think should make this list? Please share it with us in our comments section below.
I do agree with Pele and Maradona chosen on the two top spots and not Messi, but where is Beckenbauer? And probably Di Stefano deserves to be higher. We should not forget that before the rise of Pele, Di Stefano was considered the greatest ever and before him it was Meazza/Sindelaar and before them it was Andrade, Scarone, Zizinho and Friedrich.
I could mention other great players like Lev Yashin, Meazza, Romario, Andrade (Uruguay), Gerd Muller, Matthaus, Zico Josef Bican, Butragueno, Arthur Friedrich, Laudrup, Baresi, Garrincha, Stanley Matthews, Casillas, Maldini, Puskas, Roberto Carlos, Fontaine, Beckham, Sandor Kocsis, Hector Scarone, Gullit, Charlton, Lee Wai Tong, Xavi, Rijkaard, Cannavaro, Zizinho, Best, Iniesta, Sindelaar, Henry, Van Basten, Miura, Matthias Sammer, Dino Zoff who could be part of a top50, maybe in a future article.
Mr man what are you even talking about there are many best players past and present but they can never be equal. Someone will surely be the best of the best from the stars going down.
ps: Gerd Muller, Didi, Kopa, Eusebio, JM Moreno, Rivera, Ronaldinho, Rummenigge, Buffo, Rivellino, Sarosi, Moore, Rivaldo, Fritz Walter, Bozsik, Charles, Facchetti, Miramontes, Uwe Seeler, Piendibone should also be part of the lot.
Batistuta , romario and atleast austin jay jay okocha should be included ,
Probably the reason that Garrincha is at the top or even in the list is because hewasa Brazilian who never played in Europe and was of an earlier time. Pele acknowldged that Garrincha was his best player ever.
Pele is overrated as hell. He also isn’t “unarguably” the best football player of all time. He played in an era where people smoked in the half time breaks. He didn’t even participate in the knockout rounds in his 2nd world Cup when because he was injured but Brazil still won the World Cup without Pele. Anyone with a little football knowledge will know that messi is the best of all time. You boomers need to stop
Your Football knowledge is very less

Go back to school! Buuuuuu!!!
Imagine being an illiterate 12yo and thinking bottler Messi and fake Ronaldo should even be on here.
And you now think that you judgement is better than the fifa the gave him best player of the century right, brother you did not watch pele at-all at all. There are people that watched him play and they said he was the best and you that did not watch him is saying he is not, are you serious?
I dont really agree with this list. Cristiano and Messi play in a much more competetive and better era than Pele or Maradona. Science and thecnology have made football much more advanced. I dont know what messurment tools you used for this list.
Ronaldinho deserves a spot in the top 10. Baggio doesnt. And messi and ronaldo are definetley better than pele and maradona. Whilst pele and maradona are definetley in the top 10, they do not deseve to be that high. They should place 3rd and 4th
Pele
Maradona
Ronaldo Cristiano
Ronaldo da lima
Messi
Zidane
Platini
Bobby chalton
Johny Cruffy
Ronaldhino
Y must you be sentimental, I don’t need to ask you to know you’r a Madrid fan, brother go and learn how to watch football, y don’t you put puskas name.
George Best should be in the top 3 of all time, for those of you to young to remember just look up his skills and goals videos
Cristiano should be the greatest of all time due to what he has done pass the years, no player in history is as complete as Cristiano Ronaldo it very unfair for him not to be in the number one spot of the G. O. A. T.
I believe in him so much that before he hangs his boot he will be at the number one spot.
All the best Cristiano we all love you here in Nigeria. (izzydon Paul)
ur dumb bruv – he doesn’t belong on number 1 and doesn’t love you
NOONE ELSE CAPTIVATED THE WORLD LIKE PELE’!! HE IS THE MOST FAMOUS SOCCER PLAYER OF ALL TIME!! THIS IS PROOF THAT HE IS THE BEST BECAUSE EVEN AFTER MANY YEARS HAVE GONE BY HIS TECHNIC AND STYLE OF PLAY IS AMAZING! IF PELE ‘ IN HIS PRIME ON THE SOCCER FIELD WITH ANYONE ELSE HE WOULD STAND OUT ABOVE ANYONE ELSE!!
Messi and Cristiano are bullshit for recently biased kiddos. They shouldn’t even be here. EVERY list without GARRINCHA becomes pathetic. Some Brazilians still say he was even better than Pelé. In fact, Brazil only has 2/5 WCs because of him. NO, NO WAY!
Lionel Messi deserve that rank ( 1) as the greatest player of all time, for this unforgettable records that has shown him to the world as the greatest of all time.
Like being the only player to score 91 goals in a session, the only player to win the FIFA ballon d’Ors four times in row, he’s also the youngest player to score hat-trick in El Clasico at age 19. You name the rest.
So scoring goals makes you the best player
Messi is regarded by most coaches and and pundits as the greatest so I would care less about other peoples opinion. He’s simply the best just watch him play.
i don’t see how you can leave our Sheerer and Aguero
Why Messi! Why not George Best! Messi is a faker, Maradona takes drugs, Brazilian Ronaldo is a faker. Where is Mbappe?
The lion is not the strongest, nor the fastest, nor the biggest of animals and yet it is the greatest and king of the jungle. Cristiano Ronaldo is hated and despised by many for a reason I do not know but allow me to say as far as I am concerned he is the greatest and most outstanding player of all time in many ways, breaking so many outstanding records. He has also been an outstanding, most complete player in three different top leagues, breaking many records in all of them. He is also maintaining a great stand in his game whilst his career is approaching the end… No player at that age managed to maintain such as standard as being a top goal scorer in two consecutive seasons (with Juventus). There’s more I could say about the guy…and this is my view/opinion, you are free to see it your own way…if I were to reconsider he would only be second to Lionel Messi. The player is also oustanding with both feet and header… Definitely Pele and Maradona are in the top 4 or 5. I don’t know players before Pele
Difficult to rank topo 10, but top 10 players in my book:
Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Ronaldo R9, Zidane, followed by Puskas, Maldini, Beckenbauer, Platini, Ronaldo CR7.
Ronaldo CR7 is not top 5 all time, and he is ahead of Messi if both of them retired today.
CR7 performed for multiple clubs and for his country. Messi only performed for Barcelona in a system tuned to his game. Yes you can say Messi took Argentina to World Cup 2014 final, but he didn’t do much beyond the group stages and Sep Blatter is on record that the Golden Ball to Messi was a mistake as there were more deserving players. Also Messi had a much better Argentina team with four top players: Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria, Mascherano and decent players like Lavezzi, Zabaleta, Demichelis, and Biglia. Who did Ronaldo have in his Euro winning squad? A few decent players – Pepe, Joao Moutinho, and the flashy but inconsistent duo of Nani and Quaresma.
Club success should not be confused with international success. Big players play for big clubs who have the most money, best coaches, best players have the best resources to perform at their best.
I agree that Messi and Ronaldo are 1 and 2. Play in much more competitive era of big club and international football and still equal (or arguably surpass) Pele and Maradona stats and highlight reel moments.
