Conor McGregor Childhood Story and Early Life
Born on 14 July 1988 and raised in Crumlin, Dublin, Conor McGregor is one of three children born to Tony and Magaret McGregor. He attended his primary school (Gaelscoil) and secondary school (Gaelcholáiste) in the South Dublin town of Tallaght. While at school, McGregor cultivated an interest in sports such as associative football. His interest in football led him to play youth football for Lourdes Celtic Football Club. When he clocked 12, McGregor cultivated an interest in another sport, boxing. As a result, he started boxing at Crumlin Boxing Club. After he and his family relocated to Lucan in Dublin, McGregor took on a plumbing apprenticeship. Shortly after, McGregor met up with Tom Egan who became a UFC fighter. In February 2007, 18 years old McGregor debuted in his first Mixed Martial arts amateur fight. His opponent was Kieran Campbell who McGregor defeated by Technical Knock out. McGregor who fought in the match for Irish Ring of Truth promotion turned Pro after the fight and was signed by Irish Ring of Truth promotion. He thus began training in Straight Blast Gym.
In March 2008, McGregor fought in his first professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight against Gary Morris in the lightweight division.
